It doesn’t look like it will take long before we see DisguisedToast return to VALORANT after his initial exit during his first try in the world of esports at the beginning of this year when the 31-year-old floated a professional VALORANT team.
After the struggles of his unsuccessful attempt at the start of 2023, a social media post from DisguisedToast has hinted at a return by the start of 2024. He reposted an old post where he demanded to know the best unsigned VALORANT pro he could sign, and now a new post has emerged from him asking who would be the best coach available to be signed as he was thinking of starting a team again. He made the post on Friday, August 11, 2023.
DSG built a profile when he signed 24-year-old super Duelist, Jaccob “Yay” Whiteaker, a player who is considered one of the best of all time, as he helped Disguised’s latest run through the Challengers scene in North America.
Yay continues to be considered one of the GOATs of all time in the eSports industry, but the expectations from that partnership didn’t yield desired results in the league right from the first game. Despite being considered a contender in the league, they didn’t win any series while winning just two maps all season long before finishing last place.
Back-to-back losses in two different Challengers’ play-in Relegation tournaments saw them drop from the circuit bringing the team to an untimely end in a disappointing year for DSG. In the end, the organization owner admitted it was “one of the more challenging experiences I’ve faced in [my] career.”
Meanwhile, it’s not all doom and gloom as DSG found success with some of his other eSports ventures before the summer, especially with his League of Legends Challengers League roster, which won the NACL championship.
Similarly, DSG’s VALORANT Game Changers roster also had its best runs since its inception, with a third-place finish.
