One of the biggest upsets in the world of PUBG Mobile Esports history happened after a Mongolian giant, IHC Esports, was eliminated from the Global Championship (PMGC) 2024.

IHC Esports won the 2023 edition of the competition although they went on that cruise win but despite the strength of the team, they had a poor 2023 league performance. However, they were able to turn their fortunes around to lift the title.

Unfortunately, the team entered the Global Championship (PMGC) 2024 in the group red, finding it difficult to remain consistent, which has led to an early exit from the tournament.

They have also been finding it difficult to replicate the Global Championship (PMGC) 2023 winning feat after they initially failed to qualify for the PMGC 2024 as a result of placing 13th place at the PMSL CSA Fall. Before that, they had finished fourth place at the PMSL CSA Spring Split and the Global Open (PMGO).

Their participation at the PMGO was thanks to Tencent’s special invite slot for the defending world champions, which gave them the backdoor entrance to the event.

The consequences of this early exit for IHC may not be immediate but with the new PUBG Mobile esports scoring system, the reality will soon set in. The system award points to the top seven teams while a win attracts ten points and elimination attracts just a single point. IHC Esports’s elimination was barely enough for them to get into top seven accumulated placement points.

Even though one of their representatives has faltered, Mongolia still has a lot of pedigree in the PMGC after three teams from the country finished in the top four in last year’s PMGC.

Meanwhile, Falcons have made it to the Survival Stage, while 4Merical Vibes and Stalwart Esports will battle to remain in PMGC 2024 in Group Green. The Group Green matches will run from November 14 to 17.
