The only world champion left on the roster of the VCT Americas stage two, which will start off the newly buffed duelists on patch 8.11, Evil Geniuses and VALORANT coach Christine “Potter” Chi, has a lot to look up to.
Christine “potter” Chi has been flexible on the Meta in 2024, but he did give his two cents about the the changes to Iso, Neon, Reyna, and Raze in VALORANT patch 8.11 just before stage two started, and he admitted that the update calls for excitement for every stakeholder in the league as well as her dynamic duelist Alexander “jawgemo” Mor.
“All of my players are very excited about this change, this patch, especially Jawgemo. He’s gonna be having a great old time being able to select all these different duelists—well, four mainly that are going to be going into the rotation. I think a lot of teams are going to have to have some real serious discussions about those tradeoffs. Between Neon, Jett, and Raze, it’s going to be interesting. Raze lost a little bit of distance, but the speed from the Satchel is still there; she’s still incredibly strong.” potter said.
Potter mentioned the tradeoff discussion between her and Neon as one that will still be interesting while stating that Jett is still very good and having a player that’s good with Jett will make it difficult to face with an Iso [instead]. Potter stated that that would make the team lose explosiveness while offering more tactical advice, saying that having a tank that can play around with sound cues and misdirect will make stage two very fun to play.
In the coming weeks, Evil Geniuses will face 100T in the third week of stage two in what will be a clash of former 2023 world championship contenders.
