Cloud9 will start the second half of LCS Spring Split with fresh injections into the team. The team will trial a new player despite have a smooth fourth week at the competition with a midlane sweep.
Mid-laner Jang “EMENES” Min-su will be moved into the team’s starting roster, while Dimitri “Diplex” Ponomarev will move into the organization’s Challenger team.
EMENES will make his debut during the week against Golden Guardians, while Diplex will debut against TSM challengers in the Summoner’s Rift.
EMENES’s form in the Challengers League has been impressive and consistent, with the second-most kills in the league at 107, 129 assists, and involving in 65 percent of his team’s total kills.
He has also played across several organizations in the past before joining C9 in the off-season. Some of the organizations he played for include LCO’s Legacy Esports, the TCL’s Galakticos, and Excel Esports’ Academy.
His LCS debut game will be on Thursday, the 23rd of February, when the league restarts alongside jungler Robert “Blaber” Huang and rising star AD carry Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol on a major region roster.
C9 go into the remaining four weeks of the split in momentum after some big victories, which has put them just one win out of first place.
Meanwhile, Ghosty has registered his disappointment in his performance for OpTic Texas while praising Huke’s efforts in their five-map victory over the Los Angeles Guerrillas during the weekend.
“I’m not happy that it went to a map five, obviously, but it’s good to get a gritty series in for the first one. I kinda got slammed maps two and five, but [Huke] is literally the greatest.” Ghosty said.
Huke had a series high in the game, and OpTic back in action on Friday, the 24th of February.
