The second set of Thunderpick World Cup 2024 EU Qualifiers with the round of 16 concluding days after action started on the server. Going into the event, Cloud9 and GamerLegion were two favorites to progress from the Thunderpick WC 2024 EU Qualifiers tournament.

Unfortunately, the two teams had to fight for a quarterfinal slot in the round of 16 as they faced off. Cloud9 displayed an impressive reverse-sweep win over GamerLegion. Despite the defeat, the GamerLegion roster is a young roster with a lot of years ahead.

C9’s victory was thanks to the latest recruitments to their CS2 roster, and ICY and HeavyGod were very instrumental.

In other games, Monte and OG were also highly regarded as competitive teams in the Thunderpick WC 2024 EU Qualifiers, considering that Monte was filled with experienced veteran players and OG’s recent online performances had shown potential.

However, both Monte and OG won maps only to disappointingly lose to BetBoom and ALTERNATE aTTaX. In fact, DemQQ and kRaSnaL were the most disappointing in their game, while Buzz also dropped in the game for OG.

The last round of 16 games at the Thunderpick WC 2024 EU Qualifiers was between TSM to do a reverse sweep on B8. B8 dominated on map one and was in total control until TSM mounted a late comeback and shook the Ukrainians in the last part of the series.

TSM rode on Zyphon’s luck and skills with his 68:46 score and 103 ADR average over the opposition across all three maps. Valde also produced an impressive performance throughout the series to consolidate and help the TSM roster progress to the quarterfinals, where they will play Young Ninjas.
