The final tournament, the first one will be played on CS 2, has happened, and two organizations have won their respective regional tickets for the online BLAST Fall Showdown. Cloud9 and Complexity beat their final regional opponents, BIG and Team Liquid, respectively, in the competition to move to the Fall Showdown.

A rejigged Cloud9 lost only a single map all through their bracket to G2 as they blanked the rest of the others. Cloud9 did all these despite the fact that they dropped beleaguered IGL nafany and moved H0bbit to the important role.

Those decisions allowed world-class rifler electroNic to show his true colour as he notched a 1.19 HLTV Rating average over the course of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Complexity, another organization that recently had a change, secured a tight 2-0 win in four rounds over Evil Geniuses before further beating FURIA 2-1. The latter result against FURIA saw Complexity look shaky after winning their two maps by a 16-14 scoreline, dropping Overpass 16-7 to the Brazilians as they didn’t win more rounds than FURIA, but did manage to win the series.

One of the newest players to have joined Complexity, EliGE, faced off against his old team, Team Liquid, where he spent eight years, for the first time since leaving the organization. He helped the squad beat Liquid 16-4 on Overpass before dominating on Inferno 16-2.

Both teams have now been guaranteed their spots in the BLAST Fall Finals, as the tournament will serve as a great tune-up for next year’s first CS2 Major. Complexity and Cloud9 will join Team Vitality, Heroic, NAVI, FaZe Clan, Astralis, and Ninjas in Pyjamas as participants when the BLAST Fall Finals tip off late in 2023.

The first important professional CS2 tournament is the IEM Sydney 2023, which will kick off on Oct. 15.
