Casper “cadiaN” Møller has been signed on to one of the best teams in CS history as Astralis aims to remain consistent and competitive at the biggest stage. Astralis has signed big name and former Team Liquid star cadiaN to become their new in-game leader.
CadiaN, who is a former Team Heroic star, was announced as a new team member by Astralis on Tuesday, September 17. In their announcement, Astralis revealed that they wanted to gather the best available Danish Counter-Strike talent and a high-level professional team that would compete with the best of the best.
CadiaN comes in as a replacement for Alexander “br0” Bro in the new position as Astralis’ IGL. Bro has been with the team since early March of this year.
CadiaN spoke highly of the move, stating that he believes and shares Astralis’ vision as he continues to strive to be the best. He explained his excitement about having signed with the Danish esports org despite his previous controversial issues that happened due to rivalry battles.
The 29-year-old IGL promised the quality he would bring to the Astralis table, asking fans to raise their expectations of his prowess as a tactical player and leader. In his career, since becoming a professional in the CS in 2013, especially with teams like Heroic and Liquid, he has gathered approximately $647,000 in prizes.
He often plays as a Rifler or an AWPer, but bringing him in as an IGL is part of Astralis’ consistent attempts to return to their glory heights, like during the CS: GO days.
The Astralis roster with cadiaN is now as follows:
Casper “cadiaN” Møller (29) – IGL, Rifler
Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz (29) – AWPer
Martin “stavn” Lund (22) – Rifler
Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard (21) – Rifler
Victor “Staehr” Staehr (20) – Rifler
