The CS fan base will be denied the opportunity of seeing the GOAT of CS at the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 after Team Falcons’ RMR loss. Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev, widely considered the GOAT of Counter-Strike, shared the update for the sake of fans.

It was a disappointing update for the fans who couldn’t see him on display in the first Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Major Championship (Copenhagen Major) due to his inactivity.

S1mple only returned to competitive play in September after going on loan with Team Falcons as they are bidding for a spot at the Perfect World Shanghai Major. Team Falcons began the Shanghai Major European A RMR event on a good note after defeating Eclot with a score of 16-13.

The Falcons lost to FaZe Clan 16-12 in a game that went overtime on a lap, but eventually, SAW defeated them 13-5 in a shocking result. The final game for s1mple and Falcons at the European A RMR was their 2-1 to GamerLegion, which eliminated them from the tournament.

Although s1mple displayed moments of his old brilliance on the final map against GamerLegion and even placed top on the scoreboard on Mirage with 23 kills and a 1.65 HLTV rating, despite the 13-7 scoreline loss to GamerLegion.

S1mple then went on to Twitter (X) to promise his fans a stronger return by going into a strong, practicing mode in a bid to win a Major Championship.

“Don’t worry, I will be back stronger, even if I’m gonna be on the bench; I will practice until I lose my pulse to win the Major btw +train -vertigo asap, full spaceship map for me,” S1mple said.

Meanwhile, s1mple is still a member of NAVI’s roster as he is on the bench, while being on loan with Team Falcons with the aim to help them qualify for this very major tournament that they have now missed.
