T1 Academy’s support and substitute player Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has announced his departure from the Korean organization as the 2025 season approaches. Rekkles made the disclosure personally after he posted the announcement of the exit on multiple social media platforms.

It’s a surprising development especially as the player recently won the 2024 world championship as a substitute player for T1. Rekkles revealed that now is time for him to address some challenges which will require him to be close to his family in Sweden.

“When I received the offer from Becker last year to come to Korea and try out for the LCK CL team, I was not in a great place mentally. I had recently been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum, and combined with a family accident and a couple of tough years since leaving Fnatic in 2020, I was struggling. Because of this, I was actually leaning toward taking a break for the 2024 season.” he started.

However, he revealed that he still want to play for as long as possible, but this change could only make it easier to realize the goal of achieving the longevity, something he consider crucial important at this stage of his career.

Nevertheless, Rekkles appreciated playing for T1, one of the most decorated esports organizations in LoL Esports, but it never solved some personal issues; rather, it put them on hold. Meanwhile, Rekkles has gotten offers from some teams that will allow him continue to play professional League of Legends matches from home.

In his final address on the post, Rekkles appreciated his teammates, coaches, and staff at T1 HQ for helping him live and experience Korean comfortably while appreciating the fans for supporting T1, whose badge it was an honor for him to wear during his time with the organization.

The support player will definitely be replaced when T1 starts preparing for the next season.
