S1mple’s return to the CS2 has not gone as expected after just the first day of Thunderpick WC 2024. The four teams in Group A played their first set of matches as 3DMAX, OG, Virtus.pro, and Falcons went head to head.

Before the start of the competition, all eyes were on the Falcons to do well in the event, but after two matches, the roster had already been eliminated from the Thunderpick World Championship 2024.

All eyes were on the team, especially with the presence of one of the best CS:GO players of all time, s1mple, on the new roster. However, they faced and lost to 3DMAX in the opener before racing Virtus. pro in the subsequent loser’s bracket.

Unfortunately, Falcons failed to even record a single map win, in a very embarrassing performance for the team. The veteran s1mple, despite being out of the server for over a year, was hardly the problem for the Falcons.

Aside from the opening map against 3DMAX, where he struggled, he went on to put in a solid display with 27-16, 18-15, and 23-17 maps for the Falcons. From a Falcons point of view, the roster is having a hard time, and maybe the result isn’t surprising, but the upside to the whole situation is s1mple’s debut in the Thunderpick WC 2024. It gives an opportunity to see the GOAT back at the top in the CS2.

Although 3DMAX are not the biggest picks for the Thunderpick WC 2024 playoffs, they have done enough and are one game away. They did this by beating Falcons and OG, all without dropping a single map.

3DMAX will await to know their next opponents for their next game on October 26 in the Thunderpick WC 2024 Playoffs Play-In. A rematch with Virtus.pro waits for OG if they win and get to the next stage of the Thunderpick World Championship 2024.
