SCARZ has continued its scary momentum of always picking its region’s first seed spot since April last year by qualifying for the BLAST R6 Major Montreal.

SCARZ has won the Japan League 2024 Stage 2 grand finals, a fourth consecutive championship for the team as the team continues to dominate their region totally.

However, despite the dominance, Sunday’s fixture was not in any way one-sided as KINOTROPE gaming gave them a run for their effort, frustrating the reigning champions winning on Kafe Dostoyevsky.

They were set for a second map win until SCARZ won on Nighthaven Labs and Skyscraper. In both maps, KINOTROPE Gaming held a 4-2 lead until they dropped points. The Japanese roster also didn’t really perform well on attack, winning just once in nine attacks in the final two maps of the series.

SCARZ have now secured their place in Montreal’s Swiss Stage and also moved to ninth place on the Global Standings with 320 SI Points. It’s not all doom and gloom for KINOTROPE gaming, whose players can still qualify for Montreal through Japan’s Last Chance Qualifiers.

Furthermore, DarkZero Esports defeated M80 to also qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Montreal. Their fixture was the second semifinal of the North America League 2024 Stage 2. In the first map on Border, the Purple roster had it one-sided with a 7-3 win, but M80 prolonged matters after they won 7-5 on Chalet.

DarkZero took the clubhouse more seriously, and they, DarkZero Esports, came back from behind and closed the series with four consecutive successful attacking rounds.

DarkZero Esports faces Soniqs in the North America League 2024 Stage 2 grand final, and while both teams have already qualified for Montreal, there is an extra pick of the cherry as the winner will be the region’s first seed and win five extra Six Invitational Points.

Elsewhere, all hope is not lost for M80, who still has a chance of reaching the BLAST R6 Major Montreal when they play against Spacestation Gaming.
