After a busy weekend in the Call of Duty League, the New York Subliners were unable to win any of its matches after losing to duo of Seattle Surge and the Carolina Royal Ravens.
This is on the same weekend that OpTic Texas bounced back from the losses at Major II against Atlanta FaZe. OpTic managed a 6 – 0 record over Vegas Legion and Seattle Surge, and the teams at the top went into battle as Atlanta FaZe toppled Toronto Ultra, while LA Thieves also moved up the stage’s standings board.
Meanwhile, New York Subliners, who are the CDL’s defending champions, put in a strong showing, but they still fell to Seattle Surge and the Carolina Royal Ravens. The win for the Royal Ravens got them revenge on NYSL, who eliminated them from Major II.
The fixture went down to map five, and the final round saw the Subliners totally collapse 1 – 6 against Royal Ravens. Royal Ravens’ Gwinn managed a milestone of a new all-time high kill record in the CDL with 112 kills in a single series.
Seattle Surge recently had a roster shuffle, bringing in rookies 04 and Breszy in place of dismissed iLLeY and Arcitys, but it was still enough to beat the New York Subliners.
What the defending champions’ results mean is that only one team got a perfect record from the weekend, and it was OpTic Texas. They are slowly putting behind them the huge loss at Major II in the grand final.
Furthermore, Atalanta FaZe totally dominated Toronto Ultra in their 3-0 victory, continuing their run of form that saw them beat OpTic Texas and Minnesota Rokkr. The Major III tournament will wrap up in Toronto, but OpTic Texas and Atlanta FaZe will be eyeing the top spot.
