Tundra Esports have parted ways with the Dota 2 roster it signed in December 2023, leaving them once again without a Dota 2 roster.
The organization has parted ways with the ex-TSM roster they signed in December as they continued to puzzle the Dota 2 world by making several unexpected roster moves in the last three months.
One of them includes picking up MoonMeander’s ex-TSM in a partnership as they headed to ESL One Kuala Lumpur Major. The 12-team tournament saw Tundra finish in eighth place, which led to the release of 80 percent of the roster.
“Thank you @MoonMeanderated, @Timadota, @bryledota, kasane, and Immersion for your time and dedication, and all the best for your future!” Tundra posted on X on Tuesday, January 2nd.
The aforementioned five of Timado, Bryle, Kasane, Immersion, and MoonMeander have left, but Whitemon remains on the roster. The latest action leaves Dota 2 fans puzzled about Tundra’s intentions for its Dota 2 division.
The absence of explanations and reasons behind the moves gives a bit of credence to the rumors that Tundra probably signed the ex-TSM roster to fulfill their sponsor obligations before 2024.
The organization seems intent on remaining in the Dota 2 world if they can get their acts right. One of the signs is the decision to leave Whitemon remaining in the roster, a clue that the organization still have the intention to build a strong team.
There are some interesting Dota 2 players on the market who are free, like Topson, Mind_Control, and Pure. They also have a position four-player, Saksa, who is on the organization’s inactive roster on health grounds, and he has been there since before their TI12 title defense.
Tundra has all they need if they intend to build a competitive Dota 2 roster anytime.
