The VCT Americas 2023 MVP, aspas, has finally moved to a new team during the current VALORANT’s 2023-24 off-season, indirectly answering the biggest question flying around in the off-season.

Aspas left LOUD, although there was the possibility of staying back at the team until he announced his free agency. The VALORANT superstar was wanted by many organizations, but he has chosen a team in South America.

The move was confirmed officially on Wednesday as the star duelist signed for Leviathan, a team that he competed against in 2023, ending his relationship with LOUD, which stretches as far back as early 2022.

A verbal agreement had been in place since September before the official signing this week. It’s a massive move for the Argentina-Chilean-run organization Leviathan, who’s signing their first Brazilian player and the biggest name to join them as well.

The 20-year-old aspas is hyped as one of the best exports from Brazil and has high expectations on him, some of which he achieved at LOUD. He dominated regionally and played some of the toughest and most entertaining matches VALORANT on his way to his championship at VALORANT Champions 2022, winning the Grand Finals MVP for his Jett play, despite her nerfs, and remains one of the most talented Jett players ever.

Last season was a tougher year for LOUD, but they managed to continue their regional dominance as they moved from competing in Brazil to the unified Americas competition. The team finished first in the regular season, but aside from an outstanding debut tournament at LOCK//IN, weren’t able to reach any finals.

Meanwhile, when Aspas chose free agency, there were rumors linking him to other major teams like NRG or BLEED. He is expected to fit in at Leviatan as he remains in his original VALORANT region and continent, meaning he wouldn’t have a big language barrier to overcome.
