Former Golden Guardians support player Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung is on track to make a return to competitive League of Legends after a string of impressive results and ratings on the South Korea solo queue ladder.

Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung went on mandatory military service in 2022, which made him step down from competitive League of Legends actions.

However, after amassing 1,451 LP in a competitive region, he has shown that he remains one of the top players in LOL despite his absence. Olleh focused on Rell, Alistar, and Nautilus, which has seen him topple pro-Kim “Clid” Tae-min by a significant margin.

The former Golden Guardians support player, over the past few days, hit rank one on the South Korean solo queue ladder, the toughest in the world. The South Korean solo queue ladder has a player base that trumps regions like North America.

Olleh made his first big impression in the LCS in 2016 with Immortals before joining Team Liquid a year later and from there to Golden Guardians in 2018, where he was always dropping in and out of the starting roster for three consecutive seasons.

Furthermore, he also spent some time as a positional coach behind Choi “huhi” Jae-Hyun, but ultimately, he failed to reach the heights hoped for with Golden Guardians.

Meanwhile, there is no official statement from the player about a potential return, but his feat in the solo queue indicates the possibility that he’s open to offers. This isn’t far-fetched, especially as the LCS and LCK seasons are nearing their respective end ahead of Worlds 2023.

This means any team searching for a highly experienced support player for the 2024 season could be making a no-brainer if they make Olleh an addition to their respective rosters. The offseason begins in November, and it remains to be seen if Olleh receives any offers.
