Cloud9 have secured the first LCS representative slot at Worlds 2023 after beating Evil Geniuses 3-0 at the Summer Split. The top three teams at the Summer Split wl qualify automatically without having to go over the stress of the Worlds Qualifying Series.

This will be the 10th time that C9 will appear at the League Worlds since the organization entered the esport in 2013. They finally reach the milestone after fluffing the opportunity to do so with 2022’s edition of Worlds due to their seven-year streak, which was broken in 2020.

Furthermore, at the regional level, C9 are just two series away from sweeping the entire calendar year after their first-place finish in the Spring Split and a table-topping regular Summer Split.

If they see out the split with a win, they’ll have secured back-to-back LCS Championships for the first time in their history.

Despite the performances and the results, C9 jungler Blaber has played down the team’s efforts stating that the squad hasn’t even peaked as he promised the fans of a stronger C9 at the worlds.

“I think we’re a lot better than the other teams, and hopefully, we’ll be able to show it in the next two best-of-fives,” Blaber said.

Blaber has an incredible streak alongside Maokai that has now reached 14 wins with no defeat this year after the win over EG.

C9 will play the winner of the Golden Guardians and NRG tie, which was played on Sunday GG has qualified for the international scene with their MSI qualification earlier in 2023. Irrespective, neither organization has been able to go on the World stage, but there will still be a chance for the loser with a world’s spot available in the lower bracket.

The LCS Championship Lower bracket will be congested by Team Liquid, Dignitas, and Evil Geniuses next week.
