The result from the first half of the year 2023 has left TSM so disappointed that they have dropped their entire competitive VALORANT roster.

The new development was announced on the team’s Twitter handle on Saturday, appreciating the boys for their efforts despite not making it into Ascension. They also indicated that there are plans in place to re-enter for the next season.

This is coming in a month after parting ways with Andrey “Engh” Sholokhov as the team’s head coach and now Corey “Corey” Nigra, Eric “Kanpeki” Xu, Anthony “gMd” Guimond, Nicholas “NaturE” Garrison, and Johann “seven” Hernandez, will all follow.

“Today, we part ways with our VALORANT roster. While we did not achieve our Ascension dreams together, we’re proud of all the effort every player put in while representing the black and white. Thank you, boys. We have plans to re-enter the scene once the Ascension season resumes.” TSM stated on their Twitter handle.

It is also believed that the decision was further fuelled by the poor displays, which culminated in an early exit in the playoffs at VCT Challengers Americas, courtesy of Moist Moguls and FaZe Clan. This means they won’t be competing at VCT Challengers Ascension and also fail to grab a spot in Challengers next year.

This also means that TSM’s VALORANT team is done for the rest of the year and won’t be competing, but with the organization’s promise that it will re-enter the Challengers scene when the season begins again, their absence is going to be for a short period.

TSM isn’t the only team that has dropped its team after missing the Ascension; G2 ESports also towed the same path, dropping almost its entire roster and ending their season abruptly.

Meanwhile, this trend is becoming a bit of a concern for enthusiasts who believe that the tier-two system may be getting affected and that the path-to-pro may become unsustainable and unstable.
