After beating Evil Geniuses in the VCT Americas on Monday, LOUD’s in-game Saadhak has revealed the secret behind their win despite suffering their biggest map loss of the year to Evil Geniuses.

Evil Geniuses made history against reigning world champions LOUD as they thrashed them on LOUD’S pick of Split in a 13-3 victory over the number one ranked Americas team.

Such a win would have expectedly spurred EG to a win, but they made a huge mistake in the select phase that eventually cost them, according to Saadhak.

It could have been worse on Pearl as EG were only a few rounds away from a 2-0 win on Haven, only for LOUD to win on Pearl. EG’s loss on Pearl was so devastating as they made a record, becoming the first team in the world to lose a map 13-0 during the VCT 2023 season.

After the interesting game, LOUD’s in-game leader Matias “Saadhak” Delipetro said EG had no chance for a victory immediately at the start of Pearl. This he attributed to the choice of EG to continue to stick with Demon1 on Killjoy, which made LOUD comfortable after expecting EG to continue playing Max “Demon1” Mazanov on Jett and also expected him to continue using the Operator proficiently.

EG’s choice to stick to Demon1 on Killjoy made them comfortable to take more space without any threat that would have existed with Jett there.

Fade made it impossible for EG to take space as LOUD did with Aspas manning their Jett. EG’s double-initiator, double-controller on Pearl with Demon1 on Killjoy only got a victory against poor KRÜ, who are without a win.

EG’s chances of making the playoffs are becoming slimmer after their 1-4 record, and they can only stand a chance at reaching the playoffs or Masters Tokyo by winning all their next four matches.
