K1Ng has opened up about his experience in the Pacific League playing for Gen.G. This is after his impressive showings against Gen. G’s big rivals T1 in the previous week gave them a routine victory.

One of k1Ng’s strong points is his preferred weapon which is similar to the average pick in the Pacific but one that he tags as a personal choice rather than a reflection of a pattern in the Pacific VALORANT league.

In the other two of the three franchised VALORANT leagues—Americas, and EMEA, Vandal is their favourite choice, while Phantom is the heavy choice in Pacific.

After the win against T1 K1Ng debunked any speculation that his choice for Phantom is a reflection of a trend and pattern in the Pacific VALORANT League but rather his personal choice.

“I think it’s just individual preference. Since I play Viper a lot, I personally use the Phantom more. From my personal experience, the Vandal has a higher ceiling since you can one-tap enemies. In terms of confidence, I am just as confident about the DRX match as I have been for all of our previous matches,” k1Ng said.

Furthermore, his use of Viper in the league is unique, although he often rotates his picks between Viper and Killjoy based on Gen. G’s map play. It’s one of the reasons for his impressive showings in their first match this season when they played VCT 2022 champions LOUD in their very first match.

While Viper is favoured because many professional VALORANT players can aim almost pixel-perfectly, Vandal is picked in EMEA at twice the rate of Phantom in Pacific.

Meanwhile, k1Ng is rated as one of the best Sentinel/Controller players in the league, according to the VCT Pacific English desk last week. He continues to boosts Gen. G’s roster as they continue to prepare for their clash against DRX.

DRX is the only team remaining in the three VCT leagues yet to drop a map, although Gen.G shares a similar record of 4-0 with them with their single map loss to Japan’s Detonation FocusMe in the second week of league play, the difference.
