German professional ESport side, SK Gaming, has secured qualification for the World Finals in December after winning the Clash Royale League (CRL) West.

The tournament, which was a playoff for the CRL, was held yesterday between the top six teams from the group stage. SK Gaming emerged champion in a competition they emerged finalist after coming first during the group stage.

The German team had an incredible season with almost a hundred percent record. SK only dropped one game in the group stage of the competition against Team Queso

Despite being a star-studded side, Team Liquid failed to live up to expectation by finishing third in the playoffs round after being placed fourth in the group stage. The team recently got knocked out of League of Legends 2019 World Championship by Invictus Gaming.

The defending champions finally got the chance to avenge the loss suffered in this year’s Mid-Season Invitational. They, however, recorded victories against Fnatic and Team Queso in the fourth round to advance to the finals.

In the finals – a repeat of last season’s finals against Team Liquid ended up in victory for SK Gaming.

The German side took down the defending champions by winning the contest 3-1. It was achieved after SK won the first set of the one-vs-one and the two-vs-two and.

Despite the effort of Kanariooo trying to deny SK from winning the game after beating Xopxsam 2-1 through some smart outplays, the champions gave their all to emerge winners. This was made possible by Morten, who was too much to handle as he won the game for his lads by closing out the series in the third one-vs-one against DiegoB.

The final placings from the playoffs, as well as the individual prize money won, are below.

SK Gaming ($60,000)

Team Liquid ($40,000)

Team Queso ($20,000)

Fnatic ($15,000)

NRG ($10,000)

Immortals ($5,000)

The finalists have therefore qualified for the Clash Royale League World Finals, which will take place in Los Angeles, the USA, on December 7.

Other teams that will join them in the tournament are two representatives each from CRL China and Asia. The teams will slug it out against one another for the 2019 world champions crown.
