Despite failing to win The International 2023, Team Liquid’as core of Boxi, iNSaNiA, and miCKe have been able to hetch their names into the history books of Dota 2 with a record that may likely not be beaten forever.

Team Liquid’s core trio played their 1,119th game together in the upper bracket quarterfinals against Talon eSports, which was their second match, and the game marked the matching of a record that was once held by Team Nigma’s GH, KuroKy, and MinD_ContRoL.

The team went ahead to lose in the lower bracket quarterfinals against Gaimin Gladiators, which saw them knocked out of the competition, but they were able to add six games to the record they matched and surpassed it before their journey at the tournament ended.

However, one big downside to their record is the fact that their win-loss ratio isn’t as impressive, as in the 1,125 games they’ve played together, they’ve racked up 624 wins and 501 losses. In comparison to the record of Team Nigeria’s trio, it’s quite inferior as they have 670 wins against 449 losses.

Meanwhile, the third, fourth, and fifth spots in the record books are also held by variations of the same Nigma lineup, underlining the longevity that is found at Nigma. The closest is the Alliance trio of Akke, AdmiralBulldog, and Loda, which is then succeeded by Team Virtus Pro’s 9pasha, Noone, and Solo.

Meanwhile, the Team Liquid trio may not be able to add and extend the record they have after they finish in fifth place at TI 2023 as the rostermania season upon approaches, which means a shuffle may happen. Nevertheless, there’s a good chance Boxi, iNSaNiA, and miCKe might continue playing together for another season or more.

The duo record running at the moment is that of INSaNiA and MiCKe, who have played the most games together out of the trio with 1,219 games. The biggest number of games played by any duo together is the staggering 1,755 games played together by Chinese duo BoBoKa and Xxs.
