One of the best places to find Dota 2 content is YouTube.

Whether you would like to improve your skills and receive expert guidance, entertain yourself with some misplays or funny moments from the games, or watch the latest highlights of the action that you missed, YouTube is often the place to go.

You might get lost due to the wide variety of channels though, so here are some of the best around depending on your focus.

DotaCinema – this is one of the most popular Dota 2 channels with almost 1.4 million subscribers. It was also one of the first, created by the popular Dota 2 personality SUNSFan. It is mostly famous for its weekly “Fails of the Week” compilations. The videos contain amusing plays selected from replays that users have provided alongside a commentary from SUNSfan and his sidekick SirActionSlacks. The channel also has an education section called “Hero Spotlight” where a hero is comprehensively discussed in around five minutes.

Dota Watafak – another of the more popular channels, its subscriber count is now over 1.8 million people. Its strong point is its entertainment value, and the most popular video series here is the Dota WTF moments. This is essentially an amusing compilation of Dota 2 gameplay sent in by users and edited with musical accompaniment.

Dota 2 – this is the official Dota 2 channel. It has just short of 500k subscribers and is run by the company behind Dota 2, Valve. The content focus is based around the big Valve events such as The International and the Majors. Here you can find exclusive content such as player interviews and behind the scenes videos, which you might not get anywhere else. Any news related to changes within the game can be found here as well.

Na’Vi.Dota2 – with 1.2 million subscribers, the official Na’Vi Dota 2 channel is the most popular Dota 2 team channel on YouTube. This is no surprise given that the team have one of the largest fanbases in the game. The channel offers one of the richest video libraries around, with more than 4,000 videos. Here you can enjoy exclusive content related to the team as well as tournament and match reviews alongside compilations of the best Na’Vi plays. And if you are feeling nostalgic about the early days of Dota 2, this is the place to go.

NoobFromUA – this channel has a subscriber base of more than 600k and is famous for being one of the fastest to upload highlights and match features of recently concluded games. It also features lots of content from big Valve tournaments. Another series worth checking out is “Comeback Dota 2”, which features games with comebacks from difficult situations. Another highlight is the “Techies” content which has a focus on the heroes.

PurgeGamers – this channel is run by one of the most famous Dota 2 casters, Kevin “Purge” Godec, and was set up in 2011. It features many videos from the early days of Dota AllStars. PurgeGamers is also one of the best places to go to learn about the game, especially if you are a beginner or an intermediate as his “Purge Plays” features are incredibly helpful. His “Welcome to Dota, You Suck…” pieces are also aimed at helping newbies who want to gain more knowledge of the game mechanics. Purge also provides extensive casts and commentaries, as well as replay analyses.

ppd – this is the channel of recently retired pro Peter “ppd” Dager. Although his video uploads are not as frequent as the others in this list, his firsthand experience in the top Dota 2 scene has allowed him to create video advice pieces, match analyses and tutorials for those who are already more advanced in the game but would like to deepen their knowledge.

hOlyHexOr – this is the home of the ex-professional Dota Allstars player of the same name. The channel contains some of the best edited video compilations of Dota 2 professional player highlights. It also has a rich collection of playlists containing videos of highly skilled plays on specific hard to master heroes such as Invoker and Pudge. Last but not least, hOlyHexOr creates videos about star Dota 2 players featuring some of their best performances.

While there certainly are more channels around, the list above should be able to provide you with some of the best sources of news, entertainment and analytical bits from the world of Dota 2.
