TI 6 Day 2 Recap
EHOME emerged as Group B solo leaders after finishing Day 2 unbeaten in The International 6 at KeyArena Center in Seattle, USA.
The Chinese squad, now with tournament-high nine points in 10 games, set the pace on their dominant day by outlasting Team Secret in an hour-long first game before owning the second game in just 21 minutes.
From then on EHOME gathered enough momentum, sweeping their matches against MVP Phoenix and Newbee to finish the second day with all wins and all smiles as they climb their way to Group B’s apex.
In Group A, Evil Geniuses picked up from where they left off in Day 1 and won both their matches in Day 2 as they defeated Escape Gaming and Team TNC.
Team EG, who now have solo lead in the group with eight points in 10 games, easily thrashed Escape in both of their two games but had a hard time dispatching TNC in their third game of the day as EG needed 71 minutes to finish off TNC’s fight.
Defending champions EG had a great team of heroes with Winter Wyvern, Mirana, Batrider, Enchantress and Drow Ranger but TNC’s combination of Ezalor, Shendelzare, Timbersaw, Lifestealer and Bestmaster allowed them to lengthen the match that saw a total of 117 hero deaths. EG had the lead in kills at 66-51.
OG, who won three of four games in Day 2, are in second place in Group A with seven points, followed by Wings Gaming, who have six. TNC and Alliance earned two points to sit tied at fourth, while LGD Gaming and Natus Vincere both have four points and are locked at 6-7th place.
Digital Chaos slipped to second in Group B after their poor start in Day 2 saw them lose their first game against Vici Gaming Reborn, but they bounced back and won their last five games including sweeps against Newbee and Secret.
Newbee only earned two points in Day 2 but they are still in third place, tied with Team Liquid who split their three matches today with a win, a draw and a loss.
VGR, who finished with no points in Day 1, rebounded well in Day 2 with four wins in six games to move up to 5-6th place with MVP Phoenix. Team Secret lost all six games and slid down to seventh place, though they are still a point above Fnatic, who earned two points.
