Everything you need to know about Fnatic’s CS:GO team ahead of IEM Katowice

The IEM Season 10 World Championship is due to take place between 4-6 March in Katowice, with 12 CS:GO teams from around the globe taking part. Amongst the favourites are all-Swedish side Fnatic, who can lay claim to being one of the finest CS:GO teams ever to be put together.

In 2015 alone they won six tournaments, including Fragbite Masters Season 5 and a host of ESL events. Despite the heady claims of being the best team around, Fnatic did suffer something of a struggle for form at the tail-end of 2015, with the legendary Pronax leaving the team. However, since then, they have come back looking stronger than ever with new recruit Dennis joining from G2 Esports.

This year will see Fnatic looking to return to their winning ways and they already have had a strong showing in the StarLadder i-League StarSeries XIV Finals, winning the competition in January. Moving into the IEM Finals, anything less than complete victory would be a disappointment for a side that are so used to winning.

Let’s take a closer look at the Fnatic line-up:

JeSpErWJW – Jesper Wecksell

JW is the team’s main AWPer, whose highly aggressive style of play terrorizes his enemies. JW has been an important part of Fnatic since joining the team in August 2013. JW was voted the 10th best CS:GO player in the world in 2015 by HLTV.org, down from 5th in 2014, so it is clear that he is an elite talent in the eSports world.

FlushaFlusha – Robin Rönnquist

Flusha is the team’s captain and rock, solid and consistent. While other players might have an off-day, Flusha doesn’t do those. He is the team’s Rifler and has been a core member of the Fnatic line-up since 2013, joining at the same time as JW. He was voted 5th best player in the world by HLTV in 2015.

KrimzKRiMZ – Freddy Johansson

KRiMZ was considered a Support player for Fnatic after joining, but this is perhaps an understatement of what he provides the team and he is now considered a Rifler. KRiMZ proved himself to be a vital part of the side in 2015, where his MVP performance at IEM Cologne saw the team win back-to-back majors.

OlofOlofmeister – Olof Kajbjer Gustafsson

Olofmeister’ss the team’s secondary AWPer with an unrivalled mastery of the Tec-9 pistol – indeed approximately half of his kills came from this weapon at ESL One Katowice 2015. Above all, he is a versatile and talented player who isn’t afraid to innovate and push himself and those around him above and beyond their opposition. Voted the best CS:GO player in the world in 2015, the 24-year-old will be an important part of any success headed Fnatic’s way this year.

DennisDennis – Dennis Edman

A 25-year-old former CS 1.6 player, Dennis is the newest member of the side, joining after the departure of Pronax following some poor results at the back end of 2015. Dennis’s playing style is all about controlled aggression, knowing when to cut-loose and go on the offensive without overextending.
