Six spots left in 2016 League of Legends World Championships

 

We are now just weeks away from the 2016 League of Legends World Championship, but until now teams across the world are still fighting over the last six spots in the game’s biggest stage that will start this September 29 and will last until October 29.

Already qualified for the world championships are the winners of the regional Summer Splits and the teams with the highest circuit or championship points in each region.

North America’s Team SoloMid, Europe’s G2 Esports, South Korea’s ROX Tigers, China’s Edward Gaming and Taiwan-Hong Kong-Macau’s Flash Wolves earned the chance of winning the $1 million prize money after they won their respective regional Summer Splits.

Defending champions SK Telecom T1 became the second Korean squad qualified because of its team points, same with North America’s Counter Logic Gaming, Europe’s H2k Gaming and China’s Royal Never Give Up.

China already had its regional qualifier, with team IMay grabbing the world championship slot after outlasting Team WE in the final of the knockout ladder qualifier.

 

MARK THE DATES

To quench your thirst for some intense LoL action, make sure to set alarms and mark the dates of the regional qualifiers on your calendars.

The TW-HK-Ma region will have its qualifier this September 2 to 4, while North America and Europe will have their qualifiers this September 3-5.

Korea’s regional qualifier will being this September 1 to 3, while the International World Championship Qualification will have its final stages this September 1-4.

The seeding of the teams will be determined after the last regional qualifier is concluded, and the draft for the group stages will be drawn live during the Worlds Group Draw Show on September 10 at 11 AM PST.
